Programme overview
Bocconi's Economic and Social Sciences (ESS) is a 2-year, 120-CFU Master of Science taught in English. It combines advanced economics, quantitative methods and social-science perspectives, with substantial curriculum flexibility and a strong research orientation. Students can build depth in economics and quantitative analysis, access research activities linked to Bocconi centres, undertake an internship and use study-abroad opportunities; the programme is also a strong route toward research-intensive careers and PhD study.
For an Indian applicant, the practical admissions route is the international MSc selection: recognised Bachelor's degree, GMAT/GRE or Bocconi test, undergraduate GPA/transcript, and English-language dossier/motivation. English certification is an enrolment requirement after admission rather than a condition to enter selection. Applications for 2027/28 run across four rounds from October 2026 to April 2027; applying earlier is strategically better because Bocconi notes that popular-programme places and scholarships are more available earlier.
