Dutch IND Process Requirements
IND Institution-Led Fast Track Systems
Unlike other nations, you cannot apply directly to the Dutch Immigration Department (IND). Your host university acts as your sponsor and files the application on your behalf.

Only Dutch universities registered as recognized sponsors with the IND can initiate the fast-track TEV (Entry and Residence) procedure, ensuring high approval speeds.
Direct Fund Transfers
To secure sponsorship, students transfer the first-year tuition fee and living expenses (€12,504) directly to the university's trust account. These funds are refunded to your local Dutch bank account on arrival.
Embassy Sticker MVV
Once IND approves the fast-track application, they notify the Dutch Embassy in India. The student books an appointment to submit their passport and obtain the MVV (Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf) entry sticker.

On-Arrival Residence Card Triggers
Your MVV sticker is only valid for 90 days. On-arrival, you must trigger municipal and health processes to secure your physical Residence Card (Verblijfsvergunning).
TB Test & BSN Number
Indian passport holders must undergo a Tuberculosis (TB) chest scan at the local public health service (GGD) within 24 hours of arrival. You must also present your birth certificate stamped by MEA Apostille to your local municipality (Gemeente) to receive your Citizen Service Number (BSN).
Residence Permit Collection
The IND will manufacture your physical residence card after your biometrics are recorded in the system. Once ready, the university coordinates a local pick-up event or schedules an appointment at the IND office in Amsterdam, Utrecht, or Rotterdam.
